Accomodation in London; pandas in Africa?
I am beginning to deduce that avoiding a bomb on the train in London is a lot easier than avoiding a bomb on the pocket in the form of rent and accomodation.
Sitting here in Seoul and trying to find accomodation in London, is like trying to find a panda in Africa. So, here I am, having been informed by the Accomodation Office at LSE, that accomodation is as extinct as the dinosaurs.
If you know a friend or a friend's friend or a friend's friend's friend who needs a flatmate or wants to rent out a room for a year, not beyond Zone 3 in London, you know I'm your slave for a life and a half. I am even willing to consider erecting a bronze statuette of your kind self in my hometown in India :)
Getting down to the minutiae, if it's in Zone 2, close to LSE - I love you. If the pad has an internet connection, I love you even more!
Do you love me too?? :|

Hello Aloke,
I just graduated from LSE, and used to live right in King's Cross, so just under half an hour walk from school. There are plenty of opportunities for accommodation, and usually you find something within 2-3 days of being there. Best bets are going to London, speaking to the UK MC, the trainees, and looking for random papers hanging around LSE notice boards advertising flatshares. Or get Loot, a paper that comes out once a day, where people sell their stuff, or offer accommodation! Once you are there, it is all going to fall into place. London is the best.
Have fun at LSE ;-)

I agree with Bee there. Am living in London at the moment and the best is to just come here and look at sites like the loot, gumtree.com, moveflat.com, intolondon.com. Rooms come and go very quickly, you just have to be vigilant and take the first thing you see that you like (especially when you are planning to come as a flood of students arrive in September...). Good luck!
